The majority of the teams ( 7 of 8 ) voted for power play option 1.
The rules committee is concerned that for 3 overs, two players will be asked by their captains to sit out of the game. It is recommended that captains rotate players to encourage maximum participation in the games. In addition, captains are reminded that games interrupted for unforeseen reasons in the second innings may result in the risk of the power play not being taken for a valid game to be decided by run rate. |

For the duration of the game inclusive of the power play, there is NO limitation on placement of fielders as long as they do not cause obstruction to the batsman.

Both Option 1 and Option 2 are restricting players from participating. FCL is a league where we intend to maximize the playing chances for everyone involved. We think that both Option 1 and Option 2 does not support this important intention of our FCL league. At the same time, we understand the excitment Powerplay brings to the games, but it also brings disappointment for players being asked to sit out for 3 overs. So, it would have been better if we had another Option that has a powerplay in it with players not restricted from playing. Such option can include(but not limited to) the following aspects, having only 3 players on on-side during powerplay or having only two players near the boundary line during powerplay. We hope to have a good discussion to look into various possibilites of how to include powerplay with all players involved before voting on options that exclude/restrict players from participating.
